Chameleo is a next generation media platform that, through increased user interaction,enriches the user’s media experiences by integrating media plug-ins with existing Web applications. Chameleo is based on a simple media player which supports popular codecs and container formats, eliminating the need to install separate codecs. Chameleo acquires appropriate codec types automatically using gstreamer, an open source low-level media framework. Chameleo is built upon excellent open-source projects, allowing the user to employ codecs creatively to produce stunning media projects.

Chameleo video widgets are application programs that offer one or two functions whichcan be used while watching videos. In order not to interrupt viewing, widgets are displayed in semi-transparent state. For example, to keep your eye on the stock market, open the Stock Monitoring Widget. This widget presents the user with a semi-transparent view of stock information that, unlike conventional stock monitoring programs, does not disturbviewing by obscuring the screen.
The purpose of Chameleo’s file browser systemis to enable users to easily selectthe video files they want to watch. Thefile browser is divided into four categories. Each category contains folder buttons that show you detailed routes to files. Folders are ranked according to the frequency that you open themand files are displayed in eye-catching 3D designs. ThePlaying folder contains video files you’ve recently watched, haven’t finished watching, or files that have recently been added. In Favorites, you’ll see the folders that you most frequently access. For users to easily group their long list of video files, Chameleoautomatically categorizes files and provides standardized category names by analyzing data from users’ files. Chameleo analyzes genre, producer, cast, video tags, or other data to accurately group your movie files.
